Thanks for dropping in and checking out my farm!

Since this is my first blog post…ever… I’d like to introduce myself.  My name is Jeff Yribarren and I was born and raised in Western Fresno County in California’s Central Valley.  I grew up on a farm, left for four years to go to college and ended up right back where I started… on a farm.  I have a wife and four kids (three in high school and one in junior high) and we live in a small community about 10 minutes west of Fresno called Kerman.

Over the past ten years I have worked to diversify the farm into four categories- tree fruit and vines, fresh organic vegetables, “truck crops”, and wine.  Through this blog I will talk about each of these and try to get into detail about the experiences I have bringing each crop to harvest and some of the unique challenges each presents.  Now, don’t expect it to read like a spy novel, but hopefully you will find some interesting tidbits about how your food is produced and what it goes through before it gets to you.
